DEPARTMENT'S MISSION
To work in partnership with our community and surrounding agencies to provide effective and professional public safety services with integrity, honor, and compassion. Our primary responsibility is to ensure safety and security to the citizens of Blaine County, and it’s partnered communities.
RANK STRUCTURE WITHIN THE DEPARTMENT
Sheriff
The Sheriff of Blaine County is responsible for the department and all of its members. The duties of the county sheriff also include the development of the department's administrative and operational procedures in addition to the progression of his/her deputies and staff in the department
Undersheriff
It is the responsibility of the Undersheriff to assist the Lieutenant and Sergeant positions in assisting their respective divisions of the BCSO. This includes helping with recruiting and accepting new members into the department and providing help to the various subdivision leaders in the department.
Chief Deputy
The rank under the Undersheriff, Chief Deputy oversees the Field Training Program which is ran by a captain in his/her department. He/she also oversees the Staff Sergeant position as the represent SWAT for the Sheriff's department. This position communicates with the Sheriff about all things within the department, while assisting in administrative duties.
Assistant Chief Deputy
The rank under the Chief Deputy, Assistant Sheriff oversees the Watch Command Field which is ran by a Master Sergeant in his/her department. He/she also oversees the Staff-In-Training Deputies including Corporal and Senior Corporal. It is the responsibility of the Assistant Sheriff to assist the Staff-In-Training positions with their daily tasks and allowing them to progress within the department.
Major
A Major in the BCSO is a senior level deputy that has assisted both the command staff and members of the department on their way up the C.o.C. As a Major you take on the administrative responsibilities both in the field and out of the game to provide the department with the necessary support it needs to run smoothly.
Captain
A BCSO Captain is responsible for overseeing the training side of the department and assisting the Field Training Program with the supervisory support. As a captain you now take on the primary task of assisting trainers advance deputies within the Sheriff's department. Providing ride alongs, support during courses, advice to trainees and recruits, and various related tasks.
Lieutenant
Sheriff's Lieutenant in the Blaine County Sheriff's Office is responsible for the overseeing of all subdivisions within the department to make certain that they are running smoothly and effectively. This includes reviewing documents and policies, coordinating with the leaders of the subdivisions and continuously searching for methods of making them better.
Master Sergeant
In the Sheriff's department, the Master Sergeant rank is assigned to primary watch commander during patrols and in the field of duty. This is not to be confused with Primary Patrol Watch Command during patrols, and does NOT give you power over members of other departments. This is to assist members of the BCSO during their daily patrol duties and assure that the departments policies and regulations are being implemented properly during GSRP patrols.
Staff Sergeant
The BCSO Staff Sergeant is eligible for assignment to the GSRP S.W.A.T. division. As our representative, you are tasked with ensuring that all members of the BCSO that have applied to the SWAT division attend trainings, get the proper information, and upholds the departments high standards during SWAT related operations.
Sergeant
A Sergeant in the BCSO has now advanced to a staff position within the department. As a Sergeant, you have now been chosen to be a primary recruiter for BCSO. First and foremost, recruiters help people find jobs, but they can also help candidates prepare for interviews and assist with questions during the application process. As a recruiter you are expected to help and assist with comfortably getting people into our department and preparing them for their first patrols. Working with the FTOs to schedule new recruits for training and set up with the BCSO.
Senior Deputy - Master Deputy
Senior & Master Deputy - After going through the Deputy phase you are beginning to advance toward a supervisor position, with this comes responsibility. As a Senior/Master Deputy you will have to show your worth in order to become a Staff-In-Training Position. You will be required to take Deputies in the Probationary Period on ride alongs, participate in training such as Field Training Exercises (F.T.E.) with Training Officers and recruits for the department. You are to make sure that all Lower ranking Deputies are reaching peak performance while on patrol and/or calls. You are to also provide answers to lower ranking Deputies questions
Deputy I-II
The first set of ranks awarded to members who complete the probationary period and continue to develop in the division. Responsible for protecting the life and property of the citizens in the county or area he or she is assigned to. A BCSO Deputy Performs investigations, Conduct traffic stops, basic traffic control, responding to domestic violence, to shots fired calls, and filling out arrest reports and tickets on CAD/MDT.

In order to join the Department we require you to follow all community Rules and Regulations, GSRP Zero Tolerance Policy, and BCSO Standard Operating Procedures.
